When is the Best Time to Post on Social Media?
If you have been browsing my blogs, you will now know what you need to post on your business social media pages, if not, make a start by clicking here.
When you have your content plan sorted, you might also be wondering when is the best time to post to social media, so let’s dive in..
First of all, it is worth saying, that there is no magic day or time to guarantee you will beat the algorithm on any platform and quality and consistency in your posts is the way to go. Having said that, you can certainly increase the chances of your posts getting seen and engaged with by scheduling at opportunistic times and days.
The best time to post on one of the most popular social media channels is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Facebook had 2.936 billion active users as of April 2022. Advertise your business, take a peek behind the scenes and show your personality on this channel.
For LinkedIn, keep your posts scheduled for the working week with 7.30-8.30am, 12pm and between 5-6pm ideal times to ensure you catch your audience before and after work and during their lunch. Keep your posts slightly more formal, educational and create meaningful connections.
Instagram users see the most engagement when they post on weekdays between 6-9am, 12-2pm and 5-6pm. If you have stunning images for your business, share them across your Instagram channels and use relevant hashtags.
Monday to Friday, 9-3 pm are the best times to get your Tweets seen and retweeted! Share quotes, day to day observations and unpopular opinions and actively engage with others to remain visible on this channel.
Sunday Funday
Keep Sunday as YOUR fun day and avoid posting to all platforms on this day unless it makes sense to as it is the worst day of the week to post for all platforms with the lowest engagement. (Source – Sprout Social)
While the above is a rough guide as to when to post on social media, it’s a good idea to have a look over your previous posts and see what times and days got the best engagement from your audience and test it out with new posts. Only you truly know your audience and followers.
If you need some help to determine what is best for your social media strategy, I would be happy to get on a no-obligation call with you and provide some help and advice. You can book a time in my diary here.
