6 Ways to Market Your Business Online

Welcome to the world of digital, it’s online, it’s quick and as a business owner, it’s essential to build your online presence. This blog is all about ways to market your business online. Let’s go.

A Website

I have started with a website because your website is the permanent home for your business online. It’s the only form of digital marketing that belongs to you and that you have complete control of. If you don’t already have one, a website doesn’t need to be as complicated as it sounds and many businesses opt for a one page website which tells visitors all they need to know about the business, creates a strong online presence and links to your other online marketing methods. Find out more about the benefits of a one page website here.

Social Media Platforms

There aren’t many businesses these days who don’t have some form of social media presence and what platforms you use will be determined largely by your own preferences and where your audience is. All platforms have something different to offer. If your product is highly photogenic, Instagram is perfect, if you prefer making video content, TikTok could be ideal for you, and you might launch your live events and network on Facebook or LinkedIn for example. It’s all about what you want to offer the world and figuring out which platform is the best at presenting it.

Blogging

Blogging is an excellent way to build your online presence and will present you as an expert in your industry. Building a blog takes time but the results are worth it. A blog on your website will boost your website traffic, improve your SEO in Google, educate and entertain your audience and build trust within your online community. Sharing your blog is also great content to share across your social media platforms. Start by thinking about the common questions your ideal customer or client might ask and start blogging about them.

Paid Advertisements

Sometimes we all need a little boost to get our businesses in front of the right audience and strategic paid ads are a good way to do this. Most social media platforms, Google and YouTube all offer paid ad options and used in the right way, they can really help your business show up online. The best thing about using paid ads in your marketing is that you can test, measure and adjust them to target different audiences until you find the perfect ad recipe for your business.

Online Networking

Perhaps the most important one of all and the last but not least on my list today is online networking, it’s cliché but people really do buy from people and putting a face and personality behind your brand will really help you maximise your opportunities and get you in front of the people. Don’t be afraid to show up online and introduce yourself as the expert. I also covered the topic of humanising your brand in a blog I wrote a few weeks ago, you will find it here if you would like to grab another coffee and take a look.
