If you have a great business idea, it can be disheartening when customers don’t come knocking automatically. With so much competition, especially on the digital side of your business, it is vitally important to make yourself visible and available to potential customers in any way you can. Here are some ideas on how you can generate more leads for your business.

Simply Advertise

There are many forms of advertising you can use for your business including website, landing pages, email sign ups, blogging, guest blogging, online directories, video explainers, leaflets, business cards and free trials or samples. The list is endless but can take time to implement and start seeing results. Think outside the box, stay consistent and on brand and your hard work will pay off in time.

Use All of Your Channels

If you are on social media or have business pages, make use of them! One of the easiest ways to reach potential customers is through a solid and consistent social media strategy as the audience is already there, they are just waiting for some content to consume. If you can put the right message in front of the right person when they need it you have got yourself a potential customer.

Get Customer Referrals

If you already have satisfied customers, ask them to spread the word! Customer referrals are your best form of advertising because they are a trustworthy source and individuals are more likely to take their word for it and buy your product or service. If you don’t ask you won’t get, so approach your previous customers and ask them to consider leaving a review if they were happy with the job you did. You could also offer an incentive such as 10% of all purchases through a referral to really make it worth their while.

Blog

Create a blog around your product, service or niche and add value through the written word. A regular weekly or monthly blog will draw in individuals who are interested in your product, service or niche and get them thinking about how you might be able to help them. Do some research, really put yourself in your ideal customers shoes and ask yourself what they want or need; then write it!

Use Email marketing and Web Forms

A simple web form asking your visitors to sign up to your newsletter or special offer is an excellent way to reach potential customers after they have left your website and keeps you fresh in their mind. While you are working on this part of your website it makes perfect sense to optimise and update it for ease of use and make sure that visitors can find their way around. Use specific calls to actions and let them know what you want them to do next.
