4 Ways to Engage with Your Audience

If you are trying to promote your business, one of the most important rules in marketing is to engage with your audience, in this blog, we will explore what engagement is in the digital space and ways you can achieve it in your business.

What is Engagement in Marketing?

Engagement basically refers to user interactions, this is most commonly linked with social media but the term engagement can be used to describe and measure interactions all across the online space.

Here are some of my top tips on how to engage with your audience

Always Respond

No matter what way your audience engage with you, whether it is through comments, likes, reviews or messages, always take the time to respond and turn it into a two way conversation. This will help you to gain trust and build a good rapport with your followers. Don’t leave your followers hanging, always give them a good reason to keep coming back.

Share Topics of Interest

Ensure that the topics you share across social media are of interest to your followers, this will encourage them engage with you and share your content to a wider audience. The content you share must speak to your audience and represent who you are authentically. Try to keep your content interesting, current and relevant.

If your followers have subscribed to your emails, they are actively telling you they want to hear more from you. Use your email channel to give your subscribers the latest news, exclusive offers and discounts or your latest content straight to their inbox. Encourage your followers to reply to your emails using open-ended questions or quizzes.

Write a Blog

Blog writing is an excellent way to engage with your followers and a useful way to share relevant information with them. As the expert in your business, you most likely have a number of blog titles in mind but to really engage with your audience, why not ask them what topics they would like to see covered? Also take note of any frequent questions you get asked and turn them into dedicated blog posts.
